Pastor

Chris Klingenfus

Hello!  I am Chris Klingenfus, pastor here at Gaines Chapel.  I am a sinner saved by the grace of God.  I know Christ and I have been transformed by my relationship with him and by the work of the Holy Spirit in my life.  Jesus pursued me in spite of myself and has enabled me to live a way better life than I could have designed for myself.  I am a pastor not because I am so great but because Jesus has been so good to me, and I want others to be blessed as I have been in Christ.

I served for nearly two decades as a college minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship serving campuses in Louisiana and Mississippi where I pioneered and developed multiethnic college fellowships throughout the area.

Later in life I answered the call to pastoral ministry.  I studied at Asbury Seminary before I was ordained.  Since then I was blessed to have pastored a number of vibrant and growing congregations along the way.  I was likewise blessed when I was called to serve here in Corinth at Gaines Chapel.  What I joy it is for me to serve a church that works hard for God’s kingdom and shares my heart for Jesus.

God has given me a wonderful wife named Erin who is supportive of me in life and ministry.  Together we raised our daughter Jordan, who got married last year. We are enjoying getting to know our church, Corinth, and the surrounding area better.

In my free time, I love to run.  I’m not a particularly fast runner but I am steady.  I am learning to play guitar but I am still not ready for prime time.  I am an enormous Kentucky basketball fan, but I try very hard not to be obnoxious about it.

I hope to get a chance to know you better should you chose to visit Gaines Chapel in the future.

-Chris
